I don't know how they work, but they do! I think that the bags decoration are possibly magic or that there is a time/space continuum inside the custom bag where time stands still. We put a banana in the custom bags to "test" it and 10 days later the banana was exactly the same as when we put it in.
Seriously. The custom paper bags are awesome.
I think the price at Bed Bath & Beyond is $9.99 for the As Seen on TV Debbie Meyer Green custom plastic bag. I just realized that I bought the cheap knock off version called Forever Green custom plastic bags at Penney's for $4.99 and I have seen them for as low as $3.99.
Totally worth it.
I actually bought them for my mom, she will only buy 2 bananas at a time because, as she says, she may not live to eat them and she doesn't want them going bad. So I bought the custom printed plastic bags for her so that she could buy a normal amount of bananas and they would last.
Well, my mom hates having stuff . So she took one custom promotional bags out for her bananas and gave the rest to me.
